Trying to stop the madness
One little postcard & yard sign at a time.
We’re seeing it all over the country now. Creative actions and cool signs. Everybody’s standing up, using their talents and treasure to say how we feel about this mess. I’ve been involved with my local democratic party and clubs, but want to meet some folks who haven’t been political up to now, so I’m joining the local 50501 events.
My friend thought it up - just make some yard signs that folks can carry at a rally and take home for their yard. I was tired of driving past a MAGA house festooned with flags and TEN 4’x4’ yard signs that were illuminated at night. I did a quick national online survey of women 25+ to find out what messages resonated, and two came out most popular:

We knew a printer and got a good price. We put up a table at a 50501 event, and sold enough to buy a second run for the next event.
I made up some postcards and address stickers for Sen. Cruz & Cornyn’s DC office. People added their own messages, I stuck on a stamp, and we’ve sent off hundreds of cards to our Senators in the past week.
